Environmental Director - Heavy Civil ConstructionJoin to apply for the Environmental Director - Heavy Civil Construction role at Team Construction Inc.This is a full-time, 100% onsite position at our downtown office. Reports to: QHSE DirectorThe ED will lead and oversee the environmental management system (EMS) within the project organization, coordinate environmental services across sites, and ensure compliance with environmental policies and regulations. Responsibilities include managing environmental programs, liaising with authorities, leading reviews, and developing strategies to minimize environmental impacts.Key ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of the contractors environmental programs, including reporting.Ensure compliance with project agreements, environmental reference documents, and reports.Establish relationships with government authorities and stakeholders.Have authority to stop work if environmental procedures are not followed or risks exceed permitted levels.Lead environmental design reviews and develop mitigation proposals.Ensure adherence to environmental laws and standards.Liaise with authorities as the single point of contact for environmental matters.Set standards for subcontractor compliance and oversee their performance.Prepare and submit plans, reports, and documents to authorities.Authorize release of environmental plans and reports.Develop strategies to reduce environmental impacts and conduct inspections for hazards.Supervise environmental staff and develop GHG reduction plans.Manage environmental compliance policies and review building plans for environmental compliance.QualificationsMinimum 15 years of relevant project experience.Degree in planning, environmental planning, geography, or related field; masters preferred.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.Ability to analyze data, develop innovative solutions, and manage projects within budget.Job RequirementsKnowledge of Ontarios Transit Project Assessment Process, Environmental Assessment Act, and related policies.Experience managing environmental aspects of transit projects in Ontario.Experience with environmental management systems, ISO 14001, and liaising with authorities.Additional DetailsSeniority level: DirectorEmployment type: Full-timeIndustries: Construction, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction #J-18808-Ljbffr
