Reporting to senior leadership, youll oversee a portfolio of high-profile capital projects, supported by multi-level government funding, and ensure their successful execution through collaboration, innovation, and sound governance to ensure the Citys interests are reflected and protected.What Youll Do:Strategic Leadership & PlanningGuide Council and the Leadership Team on transit priorities aligned with local and senior government strategies.Develop integrated work plans, budgets, and staffing models to support rapid transit delivery.Shape transit-related policies and frameworks to align with the Citys Strategic Plan.Project Oversight & DeliveryManage complex transit projects through all stagesfrom planning to construction.Track progress, resolve risks, and ensure alignment with funding and policy goals.Coordinate with partner divisions and agencies to resolve technical and regulatory issues.Collaboration & CommunicationBuild strong partnerships with Metrolinx, transit agencies, government bodies, and peer municipalities.Represent the City in intergovernmental forums to advance regional transit integration.Lead internal steering committees and maintain transparent communications with stakeholders, including Council, public and media.Governance, Legal & Financial OversightOversee procurement processes, funding applications, and inter-agency agreements.Collaborate with Legal to establish agreements with utilities, operators, and other agencies to support project deliveryLead business planning and manage large, multi-source capital budgets.Ensure financial accountability and compliance with funding partners expectations.Organizational Development & Technical ExcellenceFoster a high-performing team culture focused on professional development and technical excellence.Monitor divisional performance, resources, and internal processes to meet evolving demands.Collaborate on the development and refinement of technical standards and internal processes to enhance operational efficiency.What You Bring:University degree in Engineering, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience, preferably in a municipal setting.Visionary leadership with strong communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.Proven relationship-builder with internal teams, agencies, and government stakeholders.Deep understanding of transit project delivery and inter-disciplinary project management, from planning to construction.Ability to assess resource needs and rely on technical experts to guide strategic decision-making.Application Instructions:To apply, please send a resume in confidence directly to Aman Sodi at .
