Together, well continue to set the standard for excellence in construction.Reporting to the Estimating Manager, the Project Coordinator/ Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates and proposals for multidisciplined construction projects, This role also supports project schedules, billings, and coordination, ensuring seamless execution from planning to delivery.How Youll Add ValueDeliver timely, accurate, and well-prepared estimates to support bidding and successful project awardsPrepare takeoffs, quantities, tender submissions, lump sum pricing, and budget estimates, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements, and attend pre-tender meetings as neededReview tender specifications, drawings, and subcontractor quotations to create comprehensive project proposalsCollaborate with project managers to ensure planned project estimates are followed, while assisting with on-site inspections and material procurement as neededAssist with project schedules, progress reconciliations, billing, and invoicing to support timely and cost-effective project deliveryIdentify and report any major discrepancies in projected project costs or construction standards to the project team promptly to ensure timely resolution and alignment with project objectivesSupport field crews to ensure projects are delivered in a safe, efficient, timely, and cost-effective mannerProvide ongoing communication with all key stakeholders to ensure alignment and satisfaction throughout all phases of project constructionDevelop and maintain trusting and positive relationships with consultants, owners, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and associates to support successful project outcomesIdentify, recommend, and implement process changes that improve project and estimating efficiency, ensuring benefits are tracked and reportedCommunicate with the team to foster a high level of technical proficiency in estimating and project management practicesActively demonstrate a commitment to safety by participating in safety training, reviewing safety minutes, engaging senior management on safety initiatives, and ensuring safety meetings are conducted and concerns are actioned in a timely mannerCollaborate with and support field teams to ensure safe operations, steady project progression, and optimized service deliveryWhat You Bring5+ years of estimating experience, preferably involving underground utilities, road building, paving, concrete flatworks, and landscapingCET or P.Eng designation preferred, but relevant education and heavy construction experience will be consideredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, construction estimating software (e.g., Hard Dollar, Bluebeam), and ERPs (e.g., Dynamics 365)Strong skills in reading and interpreting plans and specifications, with excellent mathematical and analytical abilitiesInitiative to learn and develop new skills to enhance your personal growth and the delivery of accurate and timely project estimatesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to build and maintain trusting, credible relationships, handling interactions constructively, addressing challenges proactively, and ensuring service and delivery standards are optimizedExperience working with construction crews and experience in heavy civil construction is an assetProven ability to collaborate, coordinate, guide, and support field teams to ensure crews work safely and projects progress efficiently to optimize overall service deliveryFlexibility to work extended hours, including overtime, and travel throughout the Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo areas as requiredHow We Make It CountThe H.
