Assistant Principal We are seeking a skilled professional to join our elementary school team as an Assistant Principal. As a key member of the leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience for students. Academic Leadership: Collaborate with the Principal to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies aligned with Alberta Educational Standards and school goals. Provide guidance and support to teachers in designing engaging and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Monitor student academic progress and implement interventions as needed to support struggling students. Lead professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and promote continuous improvement in instructional practices. Student Support and Discipline: Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive student support system, including counseling services and behavior management strategies. Work closely with teachers, counselors, and parents to address student behavioral issues and promote a positive and inclusive school culture. Implement disciplinary procedures in accordance with school policies, ensuring fairness and consistency in disciplinary actions. Administrative Duties: Assist the Principal in day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling and resource allocation. Participate in staff meetings and other school events to facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student academic progress and attendance. Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, community members, and external stakeholders to support the school''s mission and objectives. Act as a liaison between the school and the broader community, representing the school at meetings and events. Qualifications: A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate. A Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education. An understanding of different teaching methodologies and multiple intelligences. A minimum of 4 years of teaching experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
