Our client, an early-stage and mission-driven climate-tech startup, is seeking a Product Designer to lead the design of its flagship SaaS platform. They currently have a static dashboard so this person will be building a new product 0-1 so that it integrates and updates automatically.Therefore, please only apply if you have experience building 0-1 PRODUCTS, not just features!This is a high-impact, foundational opportunity for a designer who is excited to help shape the experience of a first-of-its-kind product. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, product, and engineering teams to build intuitive and scalable solutions for a highly technical and data-rich problem space. It’s an ideal role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, is driven by purpose, and enjoys working in early-stage, fast-paced environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead user research efforts, identifying gaps and designing research plans using appropriate methodologies.Own end-to-end UX/UI design for a complex new SaaS platform, including jobs-to-be-done definition, information architecture, and interaction flows.Create and iterate on artifacts such as wireframes, journey maps, user flows, and interactive prototypes.Apply user research findings to validate design decisions and improve product usability.Work closely with product managers and engineers to turn concepts into buildable solutions, delivering clear specs and documentation.Leverage and evolve a design system (e.g., Material UI or HIG) to ensure a consistent, accessible user experience.Collaborate with engineering leadership to align design execution with roadmap priorities.Candidate Requirements:Comfortable operating independently and owning the full design lifecycle (very autonomous role)Curious and user-obsessed; proactively asks questions and seeks to understand.Thrives in undefined environments where experimentation and agility are key.Strong research capabilities across qualitative and quantitative methodologies.Demonstrated ability to translate complex systems into clear, user-friendly interfaces.Confident working with product and engineering to balance user needs, business objectives, and technical feasibility.Comfortable designing for data-rich applications and crafting clear visual narratives.Minimum 4 years of experience as a Product Designer within early- or mid-stage SaaS companies.Proficient with modern design tools and able to produce high-fidelity prototypes.Proven ability to ship successful digital products in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.Nice to haves:Passionate about sustainability, climate, or cleantech.Motivated by working in purpose-driven teams that value trust, feedback, and high standards.Location & Working ModelCandidates must be located in Toronto.This is a hybrid role with in-person work required in a downtown Toronto office.Why our client?Fast-growing and well-funded startup with significant momentumCompetitive compensation packageBonus and equity structure3 weeks paid time offCollaborative and inclusive team culture
