Our people are our most valuable assets, so we invest deeply in ensuring RBCx isnt just a place to work but a place to belong.What is the opportunity?We're seeking an experienced Director, Strategic Finance Operations to lead our Financial Operations team, overseeing all financial cycles and working to build and improve processes to support scale. Reporting to the Senior Director, Business Management, Finance, and Client Enablement, this role will focus on supporting leaders and stakeholders across RBCx and RBC on a variety of finance-focused initiatives. As RBCx continues to grow, it is expected that the mandate of this role will continue to evolve. The successful candidate should thrive in an ever-changing and ambiguous environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee a team responsible for Financial Operations. Ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement of finance infrastructure to maximize efficiency, as well as review value-added capabilities for reporting. Drive improvement with an automation-first approach.Conduct pre and post implementation analysis to assess impacts of projects and app dev spend identifying gaps and optimizing performance with a lens for continuous improvement.Collaborate and deepen relationships with the business and other key stakeholders striving to be a center of knowledge and excellence.Support Project Approval Requests (PAR) processes; collaborate to create strong business cases, align stakeholders, execute on PAR commitments, measure progress, monitor draw down of approved capital, and support annual injection reviews/requests as needed.Provide legal entity maintenance, oversight and control in conjunction with partners in finance, tax, and legalRespond to a high volume of ad hoc queries relating to project deliverables and systems from either business or senior leaders, which requires immediate attention and quick turnaround.Identify and support strategies that would drive meaningful growth within RBCxQualificationsMust HavesCPA designation or equivalent, with 8-10 years of experienceStrong team and people management abilities, and ability to play a leadership role across a wide group of peersExperience developing business cases, forecasts, and modelsExcellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence stakeholders and mobilize cross-functional groups to deliver on common goalsExceptional written and verbal communication skills, experience delivering high-quality executive reportingExperience with automating and developing reporting dashboards (e.g. via Tableau or similar platforms)Expert-level knowledge of MS ExcelNice to HaveExperience working in consulting, a high-growth B2B/B2C SaaS environment, or a large financial institutionWhat make you an ideal candidate?Curiosity to explore better ways of working and motivating the team while maintaining a strong governance mindset, accompanied by a drive to take ownership for and resolve issues with a sense of urgency.Ability to self-direct and self-manage to deadlinesComfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth environmentAbility to multitask and handle high-pressure executive level requests on an ongoing basisSuperior organizational and problem solving skillsAblility to consistently exercise independent thought and judgment and adapt to new tasks quicklyStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex issues in a concise and meaningful manner.Bias for action and experience with project-related workProactive and persistent in issue resolutionWhats in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
