Our team is currently splitting time at the office and at home. Expectation is that the office is this persons primary work location, with flexibility for some days at home.Primary Responsibilities Lead the Independents (English and French), Library, and Special Sales rep team to drive sales growth through effective communication, coaching, and mentoring Champion our customers needs and communicating areas of change, concerns, and improvements to divisional leadership and other internal stakeholders such as Customer Service,Finance, Supply Chain and Operations Set performance objectives, business priorities and bonus targets in collaboration with Sales Director Work with Sr Data Analytics Manager to optimize tools to help analyze sales performance and provide quick metrics Direct and participate in (as needed) account sales calls to execute sales and marketing strategies to maintain Scholastics status as a primary vendor partner with our accounts across Canada. Help to establish and maintain a team culture that centers DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) from both an interpersonal and strategic perspective Collaborate with other divisional leaders to build upon best practices for the divisions DEI goals, recruitment, onboarding, training, and annual performance reviews Work with Sales Director on CRM implementation Jointly manage the planning, organization, and execution of Canadian sales conferences, in partnership with Sr Manager of Marketing Attend US trades sales conferences as needed (virtual) Direct and assist with planning annual and regional shows and conventions as required (Gift Show, Book Fairs, OLA, Word on the Street, Salons du livre in Quebec)Marketing Collaborate with Marketing and Publicity team leaders to develop and implement strategic plans that support our retail partners DEI initiatives and secure optimal placement for our authors and illustrators. Analyze results for programs and adjusting the scope and focus of plans when needed Work with sales representatives to build co-op budgets and analyze for effectiveness Remaining up to date with retail and product sell-through trends related to the childrens publishing industry (English and French) and communicating all relevant information internal teams Other duties as requiredQualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, and/or other relevant fields; post-secondary education is preferred but equivalent experience will also be considered. Minimum of 2 years of leadership and people management experience; experience managing a hybrid team is an asset. Professional fluency in both French and English with knowledge of the French Immersion and Quebec markets. Passionate about childrens literature and media with a connection to Scholastics values and Credo Experience with creating sales strategies with the ability analyze situations strategically and functionally. Robust understanding of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) with the ability to apply these principles in order to connect with diverse communities, cultivate meaningful relationships with different demographic groups and broaden the quality of representation within the Canadian childrens media landscape. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, BNC Sales Data/ CataList, Book Manager and comfortable learning about vendor portals Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; adaptable, detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and manage conflicting deadlines effectively.
