A significant opportunity awaits an excellent Manager in our Nanaimo office collaborating with our Privately Held Business (PHB) Group in our Duncan, Victoria and Courtenay offices. Working side by side with a strong team of well-respected accounting professionals, you will be engaged in a wide variety of interesting financial reporting and taxation matters, advising an excellent range of clients. A career in the PHB Group with Doane Grant Thornton will provide you an opportunity to: Work with a team of professionals who assist individuals and businesses with a wide range of accounting, tax and financial services Be part of a unique work culture that challenges you to further your professional development and provides significant opportunity for advancement to manager and beyond Be part of a fast-growing environment with well-respected professionals who are locally renowned in their respective field Develop solutions with clients and colleagues through collaborative effort and discussion Be engaged with clients on a variety of local and regional projects As a Manager, Privately Held Business Group your responsibilities will include: Leading and executing client engagements under varying reporting frameworks across different industries and sectors but with a focus on Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE) Contributing to new business development by understanding all Doane Grant Thornton services and by using your credibility in the field Acting as a leader by actively contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan Maximizing engagement profitability by effectively utilizing engagement resources Analysis and review of corporate and personal income tax returns, Compilations, Reviews and special reports Planning and leading teams to ensure that client expectations are exceeded Supervision and mentoring of an accounting team, including the review of files Engaging, coaching and developing talented professionals within the practice to maximize their potential for growth Doane Grant Thornton If youre a bit like us, youre driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking. To get the conversation started, were happy to share that our current base salary for this role ranges from $80,000 - $90,000 in Nanaimo, BC.
