Senior Accounting Manager About the Opportunity: The successful candidate will oversee the preparation and review of monthly property financial statements for a designated portfolio. This will involve approving journal entries, conducting recovery reconciliations and shortfall analysis, analyzing revenue and balance sheet data, and ensuring accurate bank and sales tax reconciliations. Responsibilities also include reviewing and compiling property-related financial data for quarterly financial statements and MD&A reporting, finalizing annual operating cost and property tax recovery reconciliations, and liaising with external auditors to respond to audit-related inquiries. Additionally, the Senior Accounting Manager will provide leadership and support in preparing the annual operating budget and review budget submissions for assigned properties, contribute to the development and analysis of consolidated budget schedules, and facilitate ongoing staff development through training and knowledge-sharing to enhance accounting skills. This role will also drive process improvements and contribute to the maintenance of updated standard operating procedures (SOPs), support the establishment and tracking of annual departmental goals, and perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed. Qualifications: A minimum of 7 years of experience in property accounting within commercial or retail real estate is required, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of budgeting, full-cycle accounting, and commercial lease terminology, as well as a Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is required, and proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or JD Edwards is essential. Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word are also necessary. The Senior Accounting Manager should be highly detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
