COWD seeks to do this through collaborative partnerships with faculty & departments, industry, and community stakeholders on a variety of projects, initiatives, programs and services using an assets-based community development (ABCD) approach. Program participants are valued for the assets they are able to contribute as they seek to further build their skills and knowledge. Taking an ABCD approach ensures that all stakeholders are able to contribute and benefit from the collaboration, with the ultimate goal of enhancing local social and economic development.About The RoleUnder the direction of the Director, Community Outreach & Workforce Development, the Manager, Community & Partnership Development is responsible for leading a staff team that is carrying out engagement and community development in Humbers local communities, in support of its strategic priority of access to education, training and employment for equity deserving groups.. These groups include: immigrants, marginalized youth, Indigenous Peoples, first generation students, Crown Wards, unemployed individuals & disadvantaged women. The incumbent works closely with community organizations & networks, schools & other stakeholders such as industry to develop programs & services & to source funding for the delivery of such initiatives. This entails researching, planning, developing, delivering and evaluating new initiatives tailored to address identified needs to support access to postsecondary education, training and/or employment.Duties Include But Not Limited ToFacilitate the development of partnerships with internal & external stakeholders & lead the process of the conceptualization of new initiatives that support access to academic & non-academic related programs/projects/events through to implementation & evaluation;Oversee and supervise community outreach to identify the needs of under-represented groups in the community, determine gaps in service & develop responses to these gaps in collaboration with community, K-12 schools and community organizations and industry partners;Lead a collaborative and diverse team of professionals, including the integration of student positions and experiential learning and research opportunities;Source government or other external funding to develop and deliver services or programs to assist under-represented groups access further education or employment;Identify opportunities and provide supportive direction for engaging the campus community in deepening commitment and embedding of community outreach and/or workforce development into campus areas and functions where appropriate;QualificationsAbout You:AboutYou are passionate about working at Ontario's largest Polytechnic; you thrive on improving productivity and quality that contribute to team success! If this sounds like you, keep reading:EducationThe successful candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Social Work, Education, Community Development or related field or relevant background in adult education, curriculum and/or program development.Experience/SkillsThe successful candidate will have at least 5 - 9 years of experience in the following:Significantly knowledgeable of community development models, approaches & theory to practice implementation;Strong capacity for in-depth social analysis & the ability to develop models & frameworks for the purposes of project development & strategic planning strategies with College stakeholders;Strong facilitation, negotiation & conflict resolution skills, utilizing an anti-oppression framework;Highly skilled in building effective multi-stakeholder partnerships and leading collaborative initiatives;Knowledgeable and Experienced in various models of research and evaluation skills;Effective written and oral communications skills with a particular focus on public speaking and presentations as well as report writing and facilitation;Excellent working knowledge of spread sheets, databases, website and word processing software with attendant keyboarding skills;Well developed skills in team building and conflict resolution;Capacity to educate others, build consensus, mobilize resources, and influence at all levels and functions;Effective skills in project planning, implementation and management;If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
