The Opportunity RVS invites applications for a continuing, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Planning Coordinator position starting September 2, 2025. The Project Coordinator administers and coordinates various projects within the Planning Department of Rocky View Schools (RVS). Reporting to the Manager of Planning, the incumbent ensures projects are delivered in a timely manner and within the scope of allocated budgets. The incumbent is an effective communicator who is able to work with diverse groups of team members, contractors, and other external parties as required. Responsibilities Include Serves as RVS representative on construction projects that are contracted to outside vendors, including new school buildings and other projects as assigned Creates project scope, budget, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with the Manager of Planning, while ensuring adherence by the project team Collaborates with the procurement team on Request for Proposal (RFP) process when required, including preparing RFP and performing evaluations Collaborates directly with Provincial representatives as required for projects, including but not limited to capital projects and modular unit installation; ensuring approvals are in place, working with RVS finance department on budgets, and closure of projects Represents RVS as required to discuss specifications with architects and other consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers Communicates plans, actions, risks, and issues effectively both verbally and in writing with RVS staff, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders Identifies and addresses possible project challenges and proposes solutions to alleviate project delays, cost overruns, and disruption to key milestone dates Maintain project documentation records as they pertain to drawing development sets, meeting minutes, construction changes, actionable items, archival drawings, and project close-out documentation. Liaises with and maintains relationships with contractors and service providers Collaborates with the team in the operations department and other departments as needed Education/Experience Certificate/Diploma in project management, business, construction management, architectural technologist or a related field Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset Minimum 6 years of experience in construction management Experience with service scheduling and working with internal and external customers Previous experience within a school division is considered an asset Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of complex and sensitive issues professionally and in a timely manner Ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal supervision Proven ability to establish collaborative working relationships with internal and external clients, and operates with high levels of service-oriented performance Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills Knowledge in Autodesk software, such as AutoCAD and Revit shall be considered an asset Demonstrated ability to apply excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications Rocky View Schools Benefits 3 weeks Vacation 11 Earned Days Hybrid (one day a week, working remotely) with supervisor approval Benefits Plan ( Extended Health, Dental, Wellness & Spending Account, Tax Free Savings Account and Registered Retirement Savings Plan) Defined Benefit Pension Plan Professional development and training opportunities Free parking Pre-employment Requirements In order to be selected as a candidate for an interview, candidates must submit proof of qualifications/education as required by the position The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment Open to: Internal and External applicants Salary: $36.82 - 44.72 per hour ( effective August 25, 2025 this position will have a 3% wage increase per the terms of employment) How to Apply We request all applications be placed through .
