Job Title: Compensation Consultant Public Sector (Hybrid Contract) Location: Ontario (Hybrid Majority Remote, Occasional On-Site for Presentations) Pay Rate: $55 $75 per hour (commensurate with experience) Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract Contract Duration: September 2025 December 2025 Application Deadline: July 25th, 2025 About the Opportunity: We are hiring on behalf of a public sector client for a Compensation Consultant to lead a comprehensive compensation review and job evaluation project for non-union and management employees. This includes the development of an updated wage grid, implementation of a modern job evaluation tool, market benchmarking, and pay equity compliance. The selected consultant will work with internal stakeholders to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and legislative compliance across 100+ positions. Key Responsibilities: Conduct a comprehensive compensation review for management and non-union staff Develop and recommend a job evaluation tool that meets legislative and organizational needs Perform pay equity analysis and develop updated wage bands and step structures Lead a market review using 10+ relevant comparator organizations Draft interim and final reports with recommendations on remuneration and compensation policies Provide training and guidance to the Job Evaluation Committee Present final findings and recommendations to Council (on-site presence required for this step) Requirements: Proven experience conducting compensation reviews and job evaluation processes in the public sector (municipal experience preferred) Demonstrated knowledge of pay equity legislation in Ontario Experience with job evaluation tools and methods Ability to develop comparator lists, conduct surveys, and analyze market data Strong presentation, report writing, and stakeholder engagement skills Availability for one or more in-person presentations (majority of work is remote) Preferred Qualifications: Background in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field Experience working with senior leadership teams and councils in public sector environments Familiarity with compensation strategy, retention practices, and HR policy development Work Environment: Hybrid model: Most deliverables can be completed remotely On-site presentation(s) required near project conclusion Apply Today Join a meaningful project shaping equitable and competitive compensation for a respected public sector organization.
