Our client, a Developer Builder based in Nanaimo is looking to hire an experienced estimator for the team. They are a well established company with options to work in Victoria as well by next year.Responsibilities Project Evaluation: Review and analyze project plans, requirements, and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates. Cost Estimation and Quantity Take-off: Prepare accurate and detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and other expenses based on project plans and specifications. Vendor/Subcontractor Relations: Solicit and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services. Budget Management: Assist in developing project budgets and provide input on cost management strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Bid Preparation: Prepare bid documents and submission packages, ensuring compliance with client requirements and deadlines. Risk Assessment: Identify and quantify cost factors, such as materials, labor, equipment, and time requirements, and assess their impact on project costs. Value Engineering: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction personnel to recommend alternatives or value engineering solutions to enhance project profitability without sacrificing quality or performance. Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and other relevant documentation. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to construction estimating and cost management. Coordination: Coordinate project plans and schedules to ensure they align with the overall project goals.Qualifications5+ years Estimating experience with general contractorsExperience in residential multifamily and ICI construction projectsFamiliarity with municipal application processes is an asset.Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Bluebeam Takeoff software.Package:$100-150k depending on experienceRRSPBonus,4 weeks vacationHealth benefits from day 11-2 work from home option
