One of our clients, a major oil and gas company, has tasked us with finding a Project Scheduler for a 1-year contract to work on a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) in Edmonton, AB.Primary Focus:The Project Scheduler will develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules for major capital projects, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and enterprise standards.Key Accountabilities:Develop and manage project schedules using Primavera P6, adhering to Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) standards.Update schedules based on earned-value data, construction progress, and stakeholder input.Analyze schedule performance, identify critical path risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.Generate 'what-if' scenarios to support decision-making and resource optimization.Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate schedule integration.Produce reports, KPIs, and dashboards to communicate schedule status and impacts.Liaise with external partners (contractors, vendors, consultants) to align on logistics and timelines.Occasional travel to field sites (Canada/US)must provide a drivers abstract for site visits.Working Conditions:Hybrid work model: In-office (Mon/Tue/Thu), remote (Wed/Fri).Occasional overnight travel to construction sites (PPE may be required).Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines for deliverables.Qualifications:Technical diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.10+ years in Engineering & Construction (E&C) scheduling, preferably in pipelines/oil & gas.Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory).Strong analytical skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.Excellent communication to engage stakeholders at all levels.Duration: 1 year (potential for extension)Location: Edmonton, ABTravel: Occasional Canada/US trips required.
