This includes the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of test beds controlled via Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Safety Controllers, electromechanical controls, and related systems.ResponsibilitiesInstall, program, test, and maintain PLC systemsTroubleshoot and diagnose PLC and control system faults in a timely mannerInterpret and produce electrical and mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&ID diagramsConfigure and maintain HMI (Human Machine Interface) systemsCollaborate with engineers and production staff to develop control solutions and improvementsPerform routine preventive maintenance and ensure documentation of all work performedModify and upgrade existing PLC programs, operation manuals, written program definitions, and technician notes to meet operational needsEnsure all control systems comply with health and safety standards, including CSA and ESA codes where applicableMaintain accurate records of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activitiesSupport commissioning new equipmentStrong collaboration and communicationTroubleshoot and diagnose mechanical faultsQualificationsCollege diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related fieldExperience working with PLC systems in an industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text)Hands-on experience with PLCsFamiliarity with industrial networking and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus)Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systemsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and documentationExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of Ontario electrical safety codes and standards is an assetExcellent problem-solving and project management skills.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of Ontario electrical safety codes and standards is an assetPay range and compensation packageCompensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per yearBenefitsPaid time off Equal Opportunity StatementIf you apply for this role, well only contact you if youre selected for an interview.In accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, your personal information will only be used for candidate selection.Were committed to a barrier-free, respectful, and accessible work environment.
