Influence Policy.Advance the Profession.CPA Ontario is seeking a politically savvy Manager, Government Relations to drive provincial and federal GR efforts, with a strong focus on Ontario. Reporting to the VP, Public Policy & Public Affairs, this role will manage key government relationshipsespecially at Queens Parkand provide strategic counsel to align advocacy with organizational goals. Experience at Parliament Hill is an asset as the role expands federally.What Youll Be DoingBuilding trusted relationships with elected officials, political staff, ministry stakeholders, and other professional regulators to advance CPA Ontarios priorities.Monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments that may impact the organization and providing strategic recommendations and timely briefings to internal stakeholders.Leading government reporting and compliance, including submissions to oversight bodies like the Office of the Fairness Commissioner, through internal cross-functional collaboration with regulatory teams.Influencing public policy by crafting and executing effective GR and advocacy campaigns.Developing clear, compelling advocacy materialssuch as briefing notes, position papers, and presentationsfor use across levels of government.Collaborating with the partnerships team to identify and advance government relations and advocacy opportunities.Supporting executive and cross-functional teams with policy insights, strategic counsel, and coordinated engagement plans.Preparing briefing materials, strategic updates, and reports to inform executive decision-making.Who You AreA graduate with a Bachelors degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Public Policy, or Business, with a Masters degree considered an asset, complimented by a minimum of 5 years progressive experience in government relations, public policy, or political roles with direct experience at Queens Park.Politically astute with strong working knowledge of Ontarios government and legislative processes, particularly at Queens Park.Skilled communicator who can craft compelling narratives and effectively represent CPA Ontario with senior officials.Trusted professional with sound judgment, capable of navigating sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy, and discretion.Strategic operator with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Collaborative by nature, with a track record of building consensus and delivering results across teams and stakeholders.What We OfferA fast-paced environment.
