Job Description

This position is open to all internal and external candidates. Prior to employment, successful applicants must provide supporting documents as outlined on our New Employees page.We are looking to hire a full-time Head Caretaker at Cole St. Mary School in Lethbridge, starting July 2, 2025. This position is covered by the CUPE 290 collective agreement.The IndividualYou are a strong advocate for youth and their success in learning. You demonstrate interest in lifestyle and growth within a Christ-centered working environment. Participation in the Catholic faith is considered an asset.The Head Caretaker is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment for the school and its community. They supervise and train Caretakers at their assigned school and possess thorough knowledge of cleaning and maintenance. The work may require strenuous physical effort, and the Head Caretaker must complete all tasks to a high standard.EDUCATION :High School Diploma;ABSA Class 5 Power Engineer certification (or equivalent);First Aid certificate;WHMIS certificate;Hydraulic Ladder Training (Mobile Aerial Work Platform);Confined Space Entry and Rescue Training;Fall Protection Training;Ladder Safety Training.WORK EXPERIENCE :Minimum 3 years experience as a Caretaker.TECHNICAL SKILLS :Basic knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals;INTERPERSONAL SKILLS :Mechanical aptitude;Effective supervisory and leadership skills;Self-directed initiative;Ability to take charge of tasks;Requires minimal supervision.The starting rate is $26.59 per hour.
