These daily operations include but are not limited to: staff scheduling, supervising and managing employees, ensuring customer satisfaction, resolving conflict, maintaining the store as well as ensuring that all policies, programs and regulations are complied with. This role is designed to prepare the successful candidate to take on a senior manager role with the Healthy Planet family.Job DutiesAssist senior manager with employee recruitment, training and developmentProvide direction, guidance and instruction to all store associates as requiredEnsure store is maintained and consistently upheld to established standardsCreate weekly staff schedules that adequately meet business needsCreate and analyze retail data via reportsHandle customer complaints as they arise and resolve conflictMonitor and manage inventory - ordering, receiving and distributing via Just In Time systemBuild strong relationships with customers and vendors to ensure all requirements are metPrepare bank deposits; may be required to conduct the bank deposit.Provide backup assistance to cashiers; handling cash, making change, conducting debit/credit payments, etc.Attend regular coaching / evaluations with the Store Manager to ensure the training program remains on track.Other duties as required per the store managerRequirementsProven experience as a retail assistant manager or similar positionExperience in Health Food Store and/or experience as an assistant manager, nutritionist, naturopath, sports nutrition or expert in health food industryThe ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situationsStrong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniquesAbility to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignmentsExcellent teamwork and employee building skillsAble to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customersLeadership and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to adapt in fast paced environmentsmotivate and energize staff on every shiftto have drive and a service based mindset to make decisions in the best interest of storeunderstand labour, day to day running of the Food and Grocery as well as Health Food industryproven leadership and staff management abilities;superior interpersonal skills;strong verbal and written communication skills;thorough understanding of and ability to execute merchandising standards;efficient time management abilities;effective organization and planning skills;computer literacy;Flexibility to work evenings, days and weekend shiftscommitment to providing exceptional customer service.What We OfferAwesome work environment and company cultureMedical Benefits and flex spending account for Full-time employeesCorporate Goodlife membershipEmployee discountsInternal opportunities for growthLife at Healthy PlanetAt Healthy Planet, we believe that our biggest strength lies in fostering a work environment where our employees feel at home and can be their true selves.
