They are responsible for overseeing all flight and ground operations while considering all factors affecting aircraft manoeuvrability, such as meteorological conditions, maintenance, load planning, and communication. The Network Duty Manager is responsible for:Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupervising SOCC personnel while on duty;Supervise and monitor the planning, direction, and coordination of the daily operational activities to ensure information is appropriately disseminated to all relevant Porter departments and station personnel;Overseeing the recovery of the flight schedule during IROPS +48 hours ahead;Review recent operational decision-making and make recommendations for continuous improvement;Provide input and direction to the SOCC training team to ensure required elements are incorporated into SOCC training plans;Provide guidance to the Duty Officers in developing plans to maintain schedule integrity and formulate the recovery of the flight schedule during IROPS;Analyzing weather and ATC conditions;Liaising with government and airport authorities as it pertains to operational matters that occur while on shift;Overseeing the assigning of flights to be operated;Overseeing the delaying and cancelling of flights;Ensuring aircraft assignments comply with MEL, corporate, and maintenance requirements;Frequent communication with Corporate Scheduling in resolving problems that impact the fleet where there is potential impact to OTP or schedule feasibility;Managing and overseeing of internal communication tools and timely dissemination of Operations Bulletins related to flight schedule changes and irregular operations (IROPS);Presenting Daily Operations Brieffings;Presenting the Weekend Preparedness Briefing;Attending the MTCE Morning briefing;Initiating and coordinating Porter Emergency Response call out when required;Actively participating in Porters Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents in daily operations, understanding, complying with, and promoting the Company Safety Policy; andAll other duties as assigned by leadership.Behavioral CompetenciesConcern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals.Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers).Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise.Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organizations standards.Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.Exemplifying Integrity: Treating others fairly, honestly, and respectfully, furthering the integrity of the organization and its relationships of trust with team members and the broader community.Inspiring Others: Energizing and inspiring others to strive for excellence and commit to common goals and purposes, creating a sense of self-efficacy, resilience, and persistence in followers.People Leadership: Assuming a leadership role in helping others achieve excellent results.Leading Change: Recognizing the need for change, being open to new ideas and methods, and championing transformational change within the organization and beyond.QualificationsMinimum of three (3) years in an airline operations center.One year supervisory position in an SOCC or related Operational Experience.Working knowledge of CARs 705.Restricted Radio Telephone Operators Certificate.Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral, presentation) with all levels of the organization.Strong people manager and coach.Ability to multi-task and manage numerous priorities at once.Working knowledge of Health and Safety practices, SMS and other relevant legislation.Ability to hold and maintain all required security clearances.Decision maker with strong planning skills and execution abilities.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Company DescriptionSince 2006, Porter Airlines has been elevating the experience of economy air travel for every passenger, providing genuine hospitality with style, care and charm.
