The successful candidate will be in a leadership role in a variety of projects that will vary from stand-alone environmental projects to integrated design engineering projects involving various engineering disciplines.The successful candidate will also be an important member of McElhanneys broader growing environmental group based across BC, Alberta with the opportunity to work with a team of more than 65 environmental professionals with a wide range of expertise.This is a growth position. Driven by client satisfaction, service, technical excellence and people management.Who You AreAs an individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will work closely with our environmental and engineering teams to support our clients needs. You understand the big picture and can help advise internal and external clients on project risks that have the potential to result in schedule delays, cost overruns and future environmental management challenges. As a professional, you appreciate the independence of being part of a smaller service within McElhanney but recognize that we are stronger when working as a multidiscipline team!What Youll Be DoingCompletion of all phases of environmental site assessments (Phase I/II/III ESAs) including proposal preparation, field planning, data interpretation, report review, remediation recommendationsClient management and developmentParticipation in the planning and execution of other environmental projects and field programsBeing a champion of workplace safety, and preparing and adhering to site-specific health and safety plansAssisting with regulatory support and technical submissions to Alberta Environment and Protected Areas, including Record of Site ConditionsProviding advice and solutions internally and externally to guide design and assist with planningMentoring of junior and intermediate environmental staffWhat Youll Bring15+ years of relevant work experienceRegistration in good standing as a P.Eng., P.Geo, P.Ag. or applicable professional designation in AlbertaStrong attention to detail and project management capabilitiesProven report writing experience as a senior technical leader and ability to communicate with teammatesAbility to work well independently and in a team environmentSound business acumen, client liaison skills, and a keen entrepreneurial spiritPossession of a valid AB drivers license is required at the time of hireWhat Can We Offer You?The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individuals education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
