Position SummaryNorthern Health is seeking an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Nursing Unit Clerk to support the Emergency department.Under general supervision and in accordance with the organization's vision and values, the Nursing Unit Assistant performs clerical duties related to patient/resident care areas. Responsibilities include acting as a communication link by transcribing and processing physicians' orders, communicating with other departments and hospitals, coordinating appointments, arranging tests and receiving results, receiving and directing visitors, answering telephones, maintaining patient charts, and performing data entry tasks.Requirements: Nursing Unit Clerk certification is required.Shift Rotation/Hours: Days and Evenings - 07:30 to 15:30, 15:30 to 23:30, rotating shifts.Dawson Creek & District HospitalDawson Creek and District Hospital is a full-service community hospital serving Dawson Creek and surrounding areas, with 31 acute care beds and 15 regional psychiatric beds. It is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for Northeast BC, offering services such as Emergency, ICU, Day Surgery, Respiratory Therapy, Primary Care, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, and visiting specialists in Urology, Dermatology, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.Community Overview: Dawson Creek is known as the Mile Zero City, marking the start of the Alaska Highway.
