The Government of Canada has released the remaining funding for ECSF, which is being administered in collaboration with United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada, and the Canadian Red Cross.The United Way of PEI and The Community Foundation of PEI will be accepting applications for the second round of the ECSF to support charities serving vulnerable Islanders during the COVID-19 pandemic.Since the pandemic was declared, community-based charities and non-profit organizations have been providing emergency support, especially to those experiencing increased vulnerability. The Fund aims to help organizations continue their vital work in the coming months to ensure no one is left behind.Types of services funded include:Food Security: prepared meals, delivery, hampers/basketsFinancial Wellness: literacy, coaching, income supportsHome Care or Personal Support: for seniors, Elders, and persons with disabilitiesHealth & Hygiene: health info, medication, personal hygiene & medical suppliesInformation & Navigation: providing information, support navigationMental Health & Wellness: peer support, crisis supportShelter: housing, crisis supportPersonal Safety: info, violence & abuse support and preventionSocial Inclusion & Learning: social activities, learning opportunitiesTransportation: access to transportation for essential appointments and errandsOtherFunding will be granted by:The United Way of PEIThe Community Foundation of PEICanadian Red CrossFunding applications from charities and other qualified donees are accepted. The total fund requested must be above $20,000 or up to $20,000, depending on the stream.
