We are seeking a self-motivated, adaptable professional with a strong foundation in health and safety and a talent for teaching others. This role involves delivering engaging training to adult learners both in-person and online, so exceptional communication skills, proficiency with computers/technology, and the ability to present fluidly are essential. You should feel comfortable delivering training on topics you may not have direct hands-on experience withdemonstrating curiosity, initiative, and a growth mindset to quickly develop subject matter understanding where needed. Technical knowledge or experience in construction is a strong asset, however, we also value individuals who are quick learners, open to new topics, and willing to grow their technical knowledge as needed. This position is responsible for the delivery of instructor-led safety training courses in both virtual and in-person formats ; and providing professional, quality safety related customer service to the membership and other identified customers. Provide accurate and efficient delivery of safety training courses. Prepare to instruct: review course content and learning objectives; employ appropriate questioning techniques and other effective instructional strategies; use training aids to enhance learning. Evaluate the performance of other Training Technicians going through the trainer certification process and provide feedback; make recommendations for changes to course content; assist with the review of occupational health and safety legislation/regulations and safety standards to identify implications for SCSA courses or programs as assigned. send relevant course documents to Administrative Services to ensure accurate and efficient processing of courses; conduct follow-up calls with students when needed; answer student questions. Background in occupational health and safety (education and/or experience) Experience teaching adults (bonus if you have formal education or training in Adult Education) Experience in construction or a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or National Health and Safety Administrator (NHSA) designation is a bonus. Computer literacy and attention to detail Ability to learn quickly and teach technical content with confidence Excellent planning and organizational skills. A suitable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Primarily sedentary office work, performance of repetitive motions and use of general office equipment as well as navigation of construction sites (indoors and outdoors) as needed. Regular travel including overnight travel within the province. Starting annual salary will be between the minimum and mid-point of the range ($59,015 - $73,765) Upon successful completion of your 6 month probation you will receive a 2% salary increase and be eligible to participate in the contributary RRSP program.
