For more information about the Library and what we offer, visit Employment opportunities at the Library of ParliamentJob DescriptionReporting to a Project Lead, LTVP, the Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing infrastructure requirements, operational plans, and occupancy strategies to support the Librarys mandate within the context of the Parliamentary Precincts Long Term Vision and Plan, an ongoing multi-year, multi-project initiative that provides a coordinated approach to renovating, restoring, and modernizing the Parliament buildings.The incumbent performs the following duties:Provides professional expertise, research and analysis on behalf of the Library in reviewing design, construction and planning submissions and deliverables for LTVP projects.Drafting and compiling of review comments to be provided to external entities and providing internal advice to the LTVP team on the acceptability of design concepts, construction and procurement specifications, and formal submissions across all phases of LTVP projects.Serves as the working level point of contact for specific workstreams with external LTVP and parliamentary partners and private sector consultants, actively participating in relevant internal and external LTVP forums to represent, explain, and justify the Librarys project requirements, position, and interests across multiple concurrent projects.Liaises and exchanges information with Library business representatives, including but not limited to counterparts in security, IT, facilities, communications, branches, and visitor services, and keeps internal stakeholders apprised of LTVP project developments, risks and related action items and decision points while validating the Librarys position and responses to project deliverables to ensure the facilities in question will continue to meet the organizations needs.QualificationsEducation:A bachelors degree from a recognized university that is relevant to the duties of the position OR an acceptable combination of relevant education, work experience and training.Experience:Experience in facilities planning or building/tenant operations and logisticsExperience in partnership development and stakeholder relations, working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, and representing the institution/organizations positionExperience working on complex processes and/or multiple projects simultaneously, including project reportingKnowledge:Knowledge of the Long Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) for the Parliamentary PrecinctKnowledge of Parliament, the Library of Parliament, and the relationship between parliamentary partners (Senate, House of Commons, Parliamentary Protective Service, and Library of Parliament)Knowledge of project management processes and best practicesKnowledge of negotiation theories, methods and techniquesCompetencies:AdaptabilityClient FocusEmbracing DiversityExemplifying IntegrityCommunicationInitiativePlanning and OrganizingAnalytical ThinkingTechnical and Functional CapabilityOrganizational AwarenessAsset Criteria:Knowledge of construction project planning, processes and related consultation, advocacy and negotiation methods and techniques;Knowledge of at least one LTVP-related workstream, including but not limited to the theories, methods, techniques, and delivery of: security; IT; facilities management; communications; library services; visitor services.Conditions of Employment:A second-language evaluation (Bilingual staffing imperative): CBC/CBC Imperative.A successful pre-employment security screening.Additional InformationPlease include a cover letter with your application describing how you meet the education and experience requirements of the position.
