About the role:The Office of MP Sukhman Gill is currently looking to staff the position of Constituency Assistant.As the Constituency Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Abbotsford-South Langley Constituency Office. This role requires excellent judgment, diplomacy, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.Primary responsibilities:Greet and assist constituents with empathy and professionalism, in person, by phone, or via email.Help manage Constituency Casework, including but not limited to Immigration, Citizenship, CRA, EI, OAS, CPP, and Passport-related inquiries.Maintain confidential records and case files using CivicTrack.Coordinate outreach activities, local events, and community engagement initiatives.Support the planning and execution of MP meetings, town halls, and other public appearances.Monitor local issues and flag emerging concerns within the community.Provide general office support as required.Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience. The position includes a benefits package (health, dental, and pension).Start date: As soon as possible.QualificationsEducation:Post-secondary education from a recognized institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experienceExperiences: One to five years of experience working in an office setting providing reception or administrative support ;One to three years of experience working in communications ;Experience prioritizing and maintaining relationships with clients by exhibiting strong attention to detail, adaptability, and analytical skills ;Experience collaborating with others and working in a team ;Knowledge and understanding of the Conservative Party of Canada as well as the current political landscape.Asset:Experience working with a Member of Parliament or a political office;Bilingualism in both French and English.Additional InformationMembers are the employers of their employees.
