Job title: Building Construction Lead Industrial Greenfield ProjectLocation: St. Thomas, OntarioJob Type: Full-Time | Permanent | On-site Travel: Up to 90 days/year (for training & workshops, domestic and international) Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Building Construction Lead to oversee the greenfield construction of a large-scale industrial manufacturing facility in St. Thomas, Ontario.This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for professionals with deep expertise in civil, structural, and MEP construction within industrial or manufacturing environments.The successful candidate will be responsible for end-to-end oversight of the construction scope from planning and coordination through to delivery with a strong emphasis on schedule, budget, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the entire building construction scope: civil, structural, MEP, and equipment installations.Develop and manage construction work plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation across the project lifecycle.Collaborate with project managers, designers, and stakeholders to keep construction on time and on budget.Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver optimized, sustainable, and cost-effective designs.Ensure constructability and sustainability are prioritized for long-term operations and environmental compliance.Act as the main liaison between construction teams, leadership, contractors, and external parties.Ensure seamless integration of all project disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical, structural).Regularly inspect construction sites for adherence to design specifications and resolve issues as needed.Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.Solve technical, logistical, or design challenges quickly and efficiently.Promote safety, collaboration, and productivity on-site and across teams.Report regularly to senior leadership on milestones, risks, and progress updates.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.7+ years of experience in greenfield or brownfield industrial construction projects.Proven leadership in managing large-scale construction projects with multidisciplinary teams.Deep understanding of construction regulations, codes, and industry best practices.Strong communication, organizational, and risk management skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Familiar with construction management tools such as Oracle ACONEX and Primavera (asset).Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.Able to safely work on an active construction site in line with H&S protocols.Detail-oriented and capable of aligning all components to project goals.Experience working within diverse and inclusive team environments.
