Our client, a leading construction company with a strong presence across North America is seeking a highly skilled senior project manager to join its growing PMO. With a focus on large-scale infrastructure and linear construction, this role offers the opportunity to lead high-impact projects across Canada from the field. Were looking for someone with proven experience delivering complex infrastructure projects in sectors like heavy civil, pipelines, underground utilities, or linear infrastructure, and who thrives in dynamic site-based environments. Key Responsibilities Include: Lead full-cycle delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects ($20M+), ensuring alignment with scope, budget, safety, and client expectations Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project, with regular updates based on field progress Oversee and control project budgets, track cost performance, forecast variances, and implement corrective actions to protect margins Establish and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for issue resolution, scope discussions, and change order negotiations Manage risk proactively by identifying exposures, developing mitigation strategies, and adjusting project execution plans in real time Coordinate and lead weekly project meetings with internal stakeholders, clients, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure alignment and momentum Direct the procurement and pre-qualification of subcontractors, issuing bid packages, conducting evaluations, and managing performance throughout the project lifecycle Enforce company safety protocols and lead on-site safety culture through tailboard talks, audits, and incident investigations Mentor and manage a team of project engineers, coordinators, and administrative staff, fostering accountability and professional development Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, including documentation control, reporting deliverables, and milestone tracking Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting to senior leadership on progress, financials, risks, and key project metrics Key Skills and Qualifications Include: 10+ years of progressive experience managing heavy civil, pipeline, or infrastructure projects Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams delivering projects valued at $20M or more Strong knowledge of civil scopes such as earthworks, underground utilities, site development, or pipeline installation Experience managing multiple subcontractors and interfacing with engineering, procurement, and client teams Comfortable in fast-paced, remote field environments with a hands-on leadership style Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, scheduling, and cost management tools Degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline preferred (equivalent experience considered) Willingness to travel and work full-time from project sites across Canada up to 50% of the time.
