FCC Canada excels in civil works such as roads, railways, maritime construction, tunnels, bridges, and subway projects.About the Project: Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a collaborative venture between Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc., and Arcadis Canada Inc. This partnership is engaged in delivering a groundbreaking infrastructure project: an eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99 in British Columbia. The new tunnel will include multiple vehicle lanes, a dedicated transit lane, and a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians. Project Opportunity: We are seeking an Environmental Monitor to join our CFP team in British Columbia. Reports to: Environmental Director and Managers Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement environmental plans, including the Environmental Protection Plan, Erosion Control Plan, and Waste Management Plan. Provide expertise to the project team on environmental issues such as water quality and sensitive environments. Assist in achieving certification objectives and target requirements for environmental standards. Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and complete monitoring reports. Maintain environmental performance indicators, including non-conformities and spills, and document them accordingly. Report deviations from environmental standards and assist with regulatory reporting. Develop proactive solutions to maintain environmental compliance and meet certification process objectives. Collaborate with the project team to create construction methodologies that minimize environmental impact. Educate and train team members on environmental practices and compliance requirements. Education and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in environmental science, biology, engineering, or a similar field. Professional designation (RPBio, P.Ag, P.Eng, etc.) or willingness to obtain Experience in the environmental field, preferably in marine construction projects. Experience on construction worksites, with previous work with a contractor being an asset. Strong understanding of environmental challenges and impacts in construction. Knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations. Job Requirements: Technical and sampling experience. Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team. Comfortable working in a remote project site environment. Ability to manage environmental documentation using Procore.
