The role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the successful delivery of infrastructure that supports long-term growth and sustainability.If youre ready to take on a pivotal role in a fast-paced project environment, we encourage you to apply and grow with us.Join a global leader in sustainable infrastructure, committed to innovation, excellence, and impact.Responsibilities:Advising the project team in respect of matters relating to the project agreement (PA) and legal riskDrafting, negotiating, and reviewing subcontracts and template documents (including construction subcontracts, supply/purchase agreements, property agreements, professional services agreements, etc.) in collaboration with the project team and the project ownerBeing the first point of contact for all legal matters affecting the projectProviding advice regarding the Construction ActSupporting the management of subcontractor claims, litigation and other dispute resolution proceedingsProviding support to the construction team, including, in respect of property and permit mattersAdvising the contract management team in respect of the administration of contracts being performed (including professional services agreements, supply agreements and construction subcontracts)Drafting and reviewing correspondence between the project team and project owner in collaboration with the commercial, construction and contract management teamsConducting legal research, drafting memoranda, drafting internal briefings and reportsProviding training and instruction in respect of the PA, standard form agreements, the Construction Act, general contracting practices and compliance-related topics (including safety matters) Communicating and coordinating with the corporate legal departments of the partnership and external legal counselOther duties as related to the roleRequirements:An active member, in good standing, of the Law Society of OntarioThe successful candidate will have at least 5 years of full time experience specifically in construction counsel rolesWorking experience/knowledge of commercial contract laws.Experience on progressive/collaborative contracting models and other large complex construction projects is preferableStrong verbal reasoning skillsEffective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and a wide variety of project stakeholders.ACCIONA is proud to be recognized as a Top Employer in Canada for four consecutive years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 as well as a Top Employer in North America for the same years.These prestigious certifications highlight our ongoing commitment to excellence in human resources and to fostering a workplace where people come first, supported by progressive, people-focused HR policies.We believe that diversity is a vital source of talent and innovation.
