Job Title: REB ChairLocation: Remote (Canada or USA preferred)Employment Type: Contract (Temporary)Start Date: TBDAbout Us:The Clinic Agency is a specialized staffing firm placing experienced professionals in short-term and long-term roles supporting Research Ethics Boards (REBs) and Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) across Canada and the U.S. We work with academic institutions, hospitals, private clinics, and CROs to ensure research integrity and regulatory compliance in human subjects research.Position Overview:We are seeking detail-oriented and experienced REB Chairs to provide leadership to the REB. As the head of the REB, you will ensure that the Full Board and Delegated review processes are being conducted in compliance with ethical standards, regulatory, and institutional compliance requirements. has the administrative infrastructure needed, manage high-risk issues that emerge, and work with the REB Chair and institutional officials. You will work with the REB and the institution to ensure that human research is reviewed and executed in accordance with applicable ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements.Key Responsibilities:Lead the REB office and provide supervision to its administrative personnelWork closely with the REB Chair and the senior institutional administratorResolve high-risk issues as they emerge, or escalate appropriatelyManage REB Office personnel and supervisory proceduresCommunicate with researchers when necessaryProvide expert advice on research ethics matters and escalate issues when neededEnsure compliance with federal, provincial, and institutional research ethics requirementsQualifications:Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (health sciences, socio-behavioural sciences)10+ years of experience supporting a REB/IRB in a manager role and/or 2+ years as a director of research ethics or equivalentStrong leadership skillsKnowledge of research ethics regulations (e.g., TCPS, 45 CFR 46, ICH-GCP)Proficiency with ethics submission and review platforms, Google ecosystem and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPreferred:Familiarity with both Canadian and U.S. regulatory environmentsTCPS, CITI Program or similar research ethics trainingExperience working remotely with cross-functional teamsWhy Work With Us:Flexible remote work opportunitiesCompetitive contract ratesOpportunities to support ethical research in healthcare, social sciences, and beyondWork with a collaborative, values-driven agency that respects your expertiseTo Apply:Please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience with REBs/IRBs to or go to and fill out the Research Ethics Professionals Application Form.
