The company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its terminal facility, focusing on safe and efficient handling of asphalt and liquid materials, team leadership, and long-term operational excellence.ResponsibilitiesManage all terminal operations, including receiving and loading of asphalt, emulsion, and calcium chloride by truck, rail, and marine vesselsOperate hot oil and steam systems to maintain required material temperaturesOversee manufacturing of polymer-modified asphalt and emulsion productsPlan and execute production, inventory, and transportation schedules based on supply forecastsDevelop inbound receiving and storage plans for liquid and packaged materialsImplement and maintain a Quality program to ensure ISO compliance and product performanceLead a team of union and non-union staff, including seasonal workforce planning and performance managementOversee union relations and ensure compliance with employment standards and collective agreementsEnsure proper material tracking and documentation, including weighing, ticketing, and inventory controlsMaintain environmental compliance and documentation (MOE ECA, spill/emergency/security plans)Manage facility maintenance, inspections, and collaborate on capital upgradesMonitor operational budgets and implement cost-saving initiativesComplete month-end reports and assist in budget preparationRequirementsPost-secondary degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing or construction environment (exceptional experience may substitute for formal education)Strong technical understanding of liquid processing systems and equipment (e.g., tanks, pumps, heaters)Proven leadership experience with mid-sized teams in operational settingsExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to learn ERP (e.g., JD Edwards) and process monitoring systems
