This role is not just a job; its a gateway to professional growth and a chance to play a pivotal role in shaping the cultural, recreational and community driven journey of our members.Role Summary:The Volunteer Manager is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive volunteer engagement program for the Toronto 2026 JCC Maccabi Games, with learning and structure that extends post-Games across the Prosserman JCC and Schwartz/Reisman Centre.Reporting to the Games Director of the Toronto 2026 JCC Maccabi Games, the Volunteer Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a consistent, high-impact, and values-driven volunteer experience that supports a large-scale initiative like the JCC Maccabi Games and can be adapted to extend into day-to-day operations of the JCC.This role works cross-departmentally within and beyond the JCC Maccabi Games organizing committee to embed volunteerism as a core element of the JCCs culture. The Volunteer Manager leads all aspects of volunteer lifecycle managementstrategic planning, recruitment, training, supervision support, recognition, retention, and impact evaluation. In conjunction with the Director of Community Engagement, key responsibilities include: Develop and lead the Games Volunteer Strategy & Processes Lead Volunteer Recruitment and Selection Process Conduct and/or oversee Onboarding, Training & Development Create systems for meaningful Volunteer Engagement & Retention Maintain accurate Data & Reporting Liaise with HR on Policy Development & Risk Management Oversee the volunteer program day-to-day, including Trouble Shooting & Issues Resolution Operationalize the volunteer program for post-Games and wider JCC What do you bring? 5+ years of experience in volunteer management, program development, or community engagement, preferably including large-scale event or games planning Volunteer management certifications (an asset); HR knowledge and experience (an asset) Demonstrated leadership in designing and implementing volunteer programs across multi-site or complex organizations Strong interpersonal and project management skills; able to work collaboratively and diplomatically across stakeholder groups Experience in training and capacity-building Excellent organizational and communication skills Knowledge of Jewish community life and a strong commitment to building Jewish community Experience in not-for-profit environment an assetWho We Are:The Jewish Community Centre (JCC) is more than just a workplaceits a vibrant hub of culture, connection, and community.
