With passionate leadership promoting quality, integrity, and trustworthiness across their business, they are looking to hire individuals to build the business around these core values.Job DescriptionOur Clinet seeking a Production Manager to join a team of skilled professionals based at the IG Machine & Fibers plant in Ashcroft, BC. This plant is a production facility that processes, color, and ship granules used for the roofing shingle.The successful candidate is an experienced, results-oriented, hands-on progressive leader, with the potential to advance within our organization who can drive synergy between technological advancements and workplace performance.Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will be responsible for coaching, educating and motivating production supervisors and coordinating manufacturing activities for the production line. Key metrics are to achieve operational goals in the areas of safety, environmental, quality, cost and productivity. Roles ResponsibilitiesProviding leadership and coaching to production supervisors and employees to meet all safety, environmental, quality, cost and service goals and objectives.Partnering with the Quality Control Coordinator to ensure that finished product meet all customer requirements through continuous improvement and utilization of the plant quality management system.Partnering with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure equipment reliability at optimal efficiency and cost.Providing leadership and support to the overall reliability strategy including the involvement of production employees in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance).Providing the leadership to maintain a highly engaged workforce. Partners with HR in areas of performance management, employee involvement, organizational change, staffing and employee development.Providing leadership to drive continuous improvement through the application of Lean Manufacturing concepts such as Kaizen events working directly with the production and maintenance teams.Assuring employee training (quality, safety, process, etc.) is effective and completed.Mentoring immediate direct reports and establishes an effective team that is accountable and capable to achieve all performance goals.Assuring plant housekeeping meets company standards and implements and maintains a 5S program to sustain improvements.Skills and RequirementsTechnical four-year degreeMinimum 5 -10 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environmentSix Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification a plusExcellent interpersonal and leadership skills Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement initiatives including LeanProficient with MS Excel, Word, PowerPointProven track record of operational enhancement and improvements through employee engagementExcellent communication (written, verbal, and presentation) skillsDemonstrated team building talent and hands-on problem solving skillsAbility to achieve results individually and as a member of a team
