Skilled in Food, Preventative Maintenance, and SQF. This role maintains our facility so that it is safe and functional, and represents the company well. Located in Scarborough, Ontario, Morrison Lamothe Inc. manufactures frozen food products on high-speed industrial equipment. **Duties** * Maintains a high level of attendance and reliability * Reliable and safety conscious with a pro-teamwork attitude * Understands and interprets instructions, directives, and processes daily * Follow specific procedures for all tasks, ensuring the safety of both personnel and food products * Remains available on-call during production times for any urgent issues * Physical Effort: lifting up to 50lbs, walking and on feet most of day **Responsibilities:** * Ensures compliance with TSSA and all other governing bodies regulations and guidelines * Responsible for the safe, efficient operation and maintenance of the plant and ammonia refrigeration, and other refrigeration systems as well as Boiler and Air Compressors system, including maintaining log books by T.S.S.A. * Ensures Boilers, Ammonia/Air Compressors start-up, are monitored and checked, with written recordings logged as per internal and statutory requirements * Documents readings (temperatures, pressures, ammonia compressor statistics) multiple times, daily. Maintains clear communication with supervisor to report abnormalities. * Monitors and records flow rates, pressure and temperature with specific cold chain parameters * Checks and tests for leaks, sets and adjusts controls and regulators and checks operating adjustments as required * Performs routine equipment maintenance and inspections, on but not limited to boiler systems, refrigeration, HVAC, fuel, water treatment, compressed air systems, auxiliaries and distribution systems, housekeeping throughout plant * Performs routine equipment and preventative maintenance: Clean / lubricate boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, etc. * Operates plant in a safe and efficient manner and applies GMPs * Works as a team with other maintenance technicians to maintain plant machinery during non-production hours (preventive and corrective maintenance tasks) * Assists with keeping CMMS up to date: SOPs, MSDS, Training records, etc. * Understands established quality standards and performs quality checks as needed * Responds to off-hours emergencies as required and is scheduled for on-call rotation. * Provides essential services coverage during plant shutdowns and Statutory holidays as required * Other duties as assigned **Qualifications / The Ideal Candidate** * Valid Class B Refrigeration Operator Ammonia certificate or 3rd Class Engineer TSSA Certification in good standing * Class B Operators License (required) * TSSA A or B Operator (required) * High School Diploma or equivalent * Minimum 2 years of work experience in a refrigeration operator role in food industry * Knowledge and experience on ammonia refrigeration systems is an asset * Exceptional organizational skills with discipline to follow up * Computer skills an asset, for entering inventory records Excel, Word and Outlook Job Type: Full-time Pay: $36.06-$37.36 per hour Benefits: * Company pension * Dental care * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * RRSP match * Vision care Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Evening shift * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Experience: * millwright: 2 years (preferred) Language: * English (preferred) Work Location: In person Application deadline: 2025-06-30 Expected start date: 2025-06-30
