Key Tourism Position A highly skilled and experienced tourism professional is required to oversee the management of tourism activities in Gold River, BC. This role involves ensuring that all aspects of tourism operations are conducted efficiently and effectively, meeting the high expectations of visitors to the area. Main Responsibilities: Scheduling and Staffing : Manage the scheduling and staffing needs for parking and boat launch activities at the local Marina. Water Taxi Operations : Coordinate the water taxi service to meet visitor demand and maintain high standards of customer service. Point-of-Sale Operations : Handle point-of-sale transactions with accuracy and efficiency. Tourism Revenue Management : Manage revenue-related responsibilities, including tracking income, managing expenses, and reporting on financial performance. New Tourism Initiatives : Develop new tourism initiatives aligned with the community''s strategic goals. Market Research : Conduct market research and feasibility studies to identify new opportunities for tourism growth and development. Budget Planning : Forecast budget needs for existing and expanding tourism operations, ensuring financial sustainability. Funding Applications : Seek funding from various BC rural tourism initiative programs. Requirements: Eligibility : Be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada. Education : Hold a Bachelor''s degree in Tourism Management, Business Administration, or related field. Experience : Have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in community-focused or indigenous tourism. Skills : Be proficient in budget development, financial forecasting, and revenue management. Tourism Knowledge : Have extensive knowledge of tourism attractions in the West Vancouver Island and Gold River-Tahsis region.
