This role plays a key part in driving efficiency, scalability, and quality through lean manufacturing, structured problem-solving, and smart technology adoption. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on, data-driven approach to process improvement and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment. Candidates with strengths in metal fabrication, switchgear, or electro-mechanical assembly will find this role especially rewarding. Please note that this position is 100% on-site with no remote work option. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes and workflows for new and existing products Lead or support kaizen events, root cause investigations (RCA), and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5-Why, A3, DMAIC) Develop standard work documentation, SOPs, visual aids, and training materials to ensure operator readiness and process consistency Analyze production data (cycle time, scrap rate, OEE, etc.) to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions Contribute to smart manufacturing initiatives, including automation, digital tools, and integration of Industry 4.0 technologies Optimize cell layouts, material flow, and takt time using Lean principles Collaborate with cross-functional teamsOperations, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chainon new product introduction and process scale-up Support or lead equipment selection, installation, and validation Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards (e.g., ISO 9001, UL, WorkSafeBC) Participate in cost reduction efforts through design for manufacturability (DFM), value engineering, and waste elimination QUALIFICATIONS: Required: 1-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role Bachelors degree or technical diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related technical field) Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (standard work, line balancing, value stream mapping, etc.) Exposure to structured problem-solving methodologies and data analysis tools Proficiency with engineering tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Excel, and ERP systems Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally Preferred: Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, or electrical switchgear manufacturing Familiarity with MES platforms and manufacturing automation technologies (robotics, PLCs, sensors, machine vision) Lean/Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) Experience leading or mentoring others (for more senior applicants)
