Salaries are determined based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations. Creating Impact The Executive Medical Director (EMD) provides senior medical administrative input into strategic and operational decisions within the Medicine Portfolio. Reporting to the VP Medicine, the EMD collaborates with various leaders and supports processes like credentialing, medical staff resource planning, recruitment, and governance to enhance medical care quality within IH. Key Responsibilities Participate in strategic planning and policy development for the VP, Medicine Portfolio. Provide leadership in medical staff recruitment, engagement, performance, and professional development. Manage budgets and resources. Support the development of the IH medical staff resource plan. Assist in recruiting medical staff, including internationally trained graduates. Implement credentialing and privileging processes in line with IH policies. Develop and implement physician compensation strategies. Oversee occupational health & safety programs for Medical Staff and Residents. Address physician-related issues, including safety and performance concerns. Mentor local medical leaders and support risk management. Collaborate with legal counsel on risk mitigation. Support quality and safety initiatives and external communications. Partner with academic institutions to promote research and teaching. Participate in medical leadership on-call structures. Perform other duties as assigned by the VP, Medicine. In alignment with IHs commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and DRIPA, preference may be given to qualified Indigenous applicants.
