We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Accounting Specialistto join our growing Building Services team. As the Accounting Specialist, you will perform all daily accounting processes and transactions to ensure they are carried out efficiently, effectively, and within established timelines. Reporting to the Controller, you will be responsible for preparing the monthly financial reporting. The Junior Accountant must work with both their Finance teammates, as well as with Operations staff, to ensure that the highest level of service is provided to projects, external clients, and vendors. The incumbent will have the opportunity to develop professionally and advance their Finance career upward within Modern Niagara through a combination of both education and a breadth of professional experience. Duties and Responsibilities: Deposit and post cash receipts from EFTs, cheques, etc. Complete monthly bank reconciliations Record journal entries for overheads, payroll, and intercompany Daily data entry and bookkeeping in accordance with ASPE (ie: enter bills, create invoices, issue statements, receive/process payments, etc.) Assist in accounts receivable collections activity Month end close support Work with Operations staff to prepare/monitor work order costing and profitability Qualifications and Job Requirements: 1+ years of accounting experience Enrolled in CPA program preferred Experience in the manufacturing and/or construction industry is an asset Experience with QuickBooks Online and/or NetSuite are assets Team player with strong communication skills; Resourceful, energetic, and strong work ethic Ability to meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Desire to continuously improve systems/processes with an open mind towards change We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
