Interior Health is seeking an experienced Building Automation System Specialist for a full-time, permanent position. This role involves managing optimization projects from conception to completion across various facility and system types. The position offers flexible work locations near Kelowna, with regular in-office attendance and regional travel. About The Job The Building Automation System Specialist (BASS) is responsible for optimizing HVAC and control systems across Interior Health sites, focusing on energy conservation and GHG reduction. Reporting to the Senior Energy Manager, the BASS collaborates with facility staff to enhance system performance, focusing on existing buildings, including retro-commissioned ones, and supporting new system commissioning. Adherence to Occupational Health & Safety policies is required, with responsibilities to report hazards and unsafe conditions. Typical Duties and Responsibilities Provide expertise in investigating, designing, implementing, and maintaining low-cost BAS energy measures. Conduct site investigations to identify deficiencies and optimization opportunities. Implement measures in consultation with management to ensure energy savings and design intent are achieved. Gather operational data and provide recommendations for improvements. Estimate energy impacts using calculations or simulation models, providing necessary data for third-party analyses. Participate in quarterly meetings with BC Hydro regarding project progress. Maintain industry-leading knowledge of energy and carbon optimization practices. Manage projects up to $100,000, including budgeting, business cases, and interdisciplinary team leadership. Prepare procurement documents and manage vendor and contractor relationships. Travel regularly to facilities for system review, diagnostics, and project delivery. Support staff with training, system maintenance, and project support. Review and support capital projects related to building automation. Stay informed on best practices, codes, standards, and regulations. Develop relationships with internal staff and external partners. Secure incentives and rebates for energy projects. Perform additional duties as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
