General Internist Opportunity We are seeking a skilled General Internist to join our team at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. The ideal candidate will be eligible for licensure with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine and have a strong foundation in general internal medicine, with subspecialty interests and qualifications in respirology, nephrology, infectious diseases, neurology, ICU and geriatrics. A key responsibility of this role will be managing complex medical patients, providing general cardiac care and peri-operative consults. The successful candidate will also participate in the outpatient Rapid Cardiac Assessment Clinic, Urgent Medical Assessment Clinic and in the Complex Medical Care Unit. To succeed in this position, you will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and possess a high level of emotional intelligence.
