Based in Stratford, Ontario, the Stratford Festival is one of the worlds foremost repertory theatre companies. It operates year-round, presenting a season of about a dozen plays each year between the months of April and November, a rich stream of digital content and hundreds of events designed to deepen understanding of the plays. The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, preparing payments, and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded. This role involves coordinating approvals, maintaining organized financial records, and responding to inquiries related to accounts payable. Additionally, the Accounts Payable Coordinator supports the overall accounting team in the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting. Responsibilities: Verify and code accounts payable invoices for accurate input into the accounting system. Obtain necessary approvals for all accounts payable invoices in accordance with company policies. Prepare semi-monthly accounts payable payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements. Process e-transfers and wire payments, ensuring compliance with payment protocols. Secure appropriate approvals for all outgoing payments before processing. Record accounts payable transactions and related journal entries into the accounting system. Reconcile to the subledger and to PBI as part of each semi-monthly payment run. Maintain organized records by filing paid invoices and expense reports in a systematic manner. Respond promptly and professionally to both internal and external accounts payable inquiries. Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Adhere to the Stratford Festival Health & Safety Commitment and Procedures, and ensure that safe work practices and policies are supported and enforced within reporting structure. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Post-secondary diploma in a field related to Accounting or Business. 1 to 2 years of related experience. Experience in accounts payable or similar high volume data entry role. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with GP Dynamics considered an asset. Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) are required. High standard of organization, accuracy and attention to detail.
