We are currently recruiting for: PROGRAM WORKERS CASUAL JOB ID: 2025-03R JOB TYPE: Non-Union G&B House is a program of CMHA Grey Bruce Mental Health and Addiction Services. G&B House is a 15 bed Residential recovery home for men, 16 years of age and over with severe and often chronic addiction issues. As an abstinence-based program that provides services that follow the 12 Step model, G&B House provides a safe, substance free home and early recovery program for men committing to seeking a future independent of substance use. Shifts include providing emergency call in and scheduled shifts including nights, weekends, days and holidays. The position has a responsibility for overseeing the functioning of the house and maintaining orderly conduct within. Reporting to the Coordinator, the Program Worker is responsible for: Prepare and complete weekly and monthly reviews with clients Update weekly tracking sheets for assignments One to one with clients Maintain safety of house and residents. Monitor chores and bedrooms, disciplinary action if/when required Monitor and check medications for consumption and ordering Fill in for senior staff Facilitate staff lead groups when covering for senior staff Drug testing, collecting, and testing samples Hours of work are casual. Shifts could include days, nights weekends and holidays. Working in a busy residential environment with frequent interruptions. What we offer you A competitive hourly wage ranging between $23.90 and $26.25 (5 step grid) In house training for First Aid/CPR, Mental Health First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Applied Suicide Intervention Training Celebratory and camaraderie events A supportive and collaborative work environment What you will bring Lived experience with addictions and in addiction recovery of continuous sobriety for a minimum of the last 5 years Must be available for night shifts 12 step recovery experience, NA or AA Good observation skills Self-motivated and able to act independently Ability to maintain good work habits Demonstrated ability to promote and support individual recovery Good communication, organizational and relationship skills A valid Canadian drivers license and the use of a reliable personal vehicle Minimum $2,000,000 third party liability vehicle insurance A satisfactory police record check including vulnerable sector screening CMHA Grey Bruce is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
