Its mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that the international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users. FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario. Reporting to the Manager, Information Management, the Information Management Summer Student is responsible for digitizing and organizing important documents, and contributing to the efficiency of FBCLs Information Management system. This is a contract position, 37.5 hours per week. Du ties and Responsibilities: Document Scanning 40% Operate document scanning equipment to convert paper documents into electronic format; and, Ensure accurate and high-quality scans, paying attention to details and specifications. Quality Control 30% Perform quality checks on scanned documents to verify clarity, resolution, and proper orientation; and, Identify and correct any scanning errors or discrepancies. File Organization 10% Organize and categorize electronic files according to established guidelines; and, Maintain a systematic and logical filing structure for easy retrieval of documents. Data Entry 10% Enter relevant metadata and indexing information for scanned documents; and, Ensure data accuracy and completeness in the digital filing system. Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth workflow; and, Communicate effectively with people leader and colleagues to address any issues or questions. Essential Qualifications Prior experience in an administrative role or office environment is required; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills is required; Ability to operate document scanning equipment efficiently is required; Basic knowledge of document management systems and digital filing principles is required; Proficiency in data entry and accuracy in handling electronic files is required; Excellent communication and teamwork skills is required; Ability to report to work in person at the FBCL office in Point Edward Monday to Friday is required; Must be able to lift boxes weighing 20 lbs; Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance required; and, Ability to demonstrate and maintain language requirement (English Essential) is required.
