Job Summary The X-Ray Technician operates X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to assist radiologists and physicians in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries. Key Responsibilities Prepare patients for radiologic procedures Protect patients, staff, and self from radiation hazards Operate radiographic equipment following safety and patient care procedures Select appropriate radiologic settings and adjust controls Position patients and capture X-ray images as requested by physicians Develop and review radiographic films for clarity, retake images if necessary Distribute images to medical staff and maintain accurate records Perform quality control checks on equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards Maintain and troubleshoot radiographic equipment and supplies Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Certification: Licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent Experience: Minimum 1 year in a relevant healthcare setting Education: Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program Vanderbilt Health is committed to diversity and equal opportunity.
