Why Were Adding a Fractional CFO With new growth initiatives on the horizon we are seeking a seasoned strategic finance leadership without the permanence of a full-time executive seat. A fractional CFO will give our Board and leadership team high-calibre guidance while allowing flexibility for both parties. The Opportunity As Fractional CFO, youll be Nucleuss senior financial steward, shaping strategy, strengthening controls, and cultivating a data-driven culture. Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the Senior Leadership Team you will undertake the following: Key Responsibilities Strategic & Advisory Build a long-range financial plan that aligns with our 20252028 strategic roadmap; Advise on capital structure, banking relationships, and risk-mitigation strategies (insurance, reserve policies, scenario modelling); Partner with People & Culture on union negotiations (CUPE/Unifor), and total-rewards cost modelling; Act as finance liaison to the Board, preparing clear dashboards and briefing materials for quarterly meetings; Operational & Compliance Provide oversight and support to current Finance Team Lead annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecast cycles; present variance analyses and funding proposals to the Finance & Audit Committee. Ensure compliance with CRA, ONCA/Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, Federal Charitable Status, Ontario Health reporting, WSIB, and audit requirements. Coach and elevate a three-person finance team; assess systems for automation and insight improvements. The Ideal Candidate MustHave Experience CPA (CA/CMA/CGA) in good standing, plus 10+ years progressive senior finance leadership. Track record guiding notforprofit or publicsector organizations >$10M through growth and fundingmodel change. Mastery of budgeting, cashflow management, fundermandated reporting, and board relations. Handson systems skill set (Excel modelling, cloud ERP, BI tools). Preferred Assets Prior fractional/consulting engagements demonstrating ability to create impact in limited hours. Familiarity with HOOPP, collective agreements, and Ontario Health accountability agreements.
