Job Description: Position Summary Responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of project vehicles and equipment. This includes inspecting, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles and equipment, performing performance testing, and repairing defective components under the guidance of a 310T mechanic. Additionally, monitoring, diagnosing, and repairing AVL systems and electronic driver logs are required. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Inspect vehicles and equipment thoroughly to detect malfunctions or damages, and perform repairs or replacements using proper tools under the guidance of a 310T mechanic. Monitor, diagnose, and repair AVL systems. Monitor, diagnose, and repair electronic driver logs. Diagnose operational problems and recommend necessary parts or services. Maintain accurate daily maintenance records and prepare cost estimates for repairs and services. Ensure all vehicles and equipment pass safety inspections and comply with provincial standards, under the guidance of a 310T mechanic. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to read and interpret plans, material lists, and guidelines; meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving skills. Proficiency in computer skills. Education and Experience High school diploma or current enrollment in a second or third-year apprenticeship program. At least 1 year of relevant experience. Valid driver''s license with a good driving record. Work Conditions/Travel Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, and electric tools and equipment. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, or airborne particles. Moderate noise levels, occasionally louder. Availability for emergency response rotations, overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Practice safe work methods and wear appropriate PPE.
