Job Opportunity The role of a Clinical Lead is crucial in implementing and driving innovation within our Infusion Therapy and Vascular Access program. We are seeking an experienced professional to develop, deliver, and mentor nurses using ultrasound guidance (USG) to place vascular access devices, supporting competency development in home and community care settings. This position involves advancing our vascular access program, standards of care, and professional practice leadership. Key responsibilities include educating, mentoring, and coaching new learners in using USG to place peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVC) at local branches across Ontario, providing high-quality care through educating and supporting nurses to use USG to insert PIVC, and championing evidence-based practices for vascular access care and management. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver education outlined to support the implementation and use of ultrasound machines to place PIVC. Mentor and coach nurses at branches across the province, collaborating with local clinical practice leads and nurse managers to support the nurse. Act as a clinical preceptor who coaches and mentors'' nurses in placing PIVC using US guidance and following with the care and management of the vascular access device. Evaluate learners'' progress using various methods of evaluation. Support nurses during their ''on call'' coverage, as needed, during regular hours, after hours, or weekends. Requirements Regulated Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse. Current College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) registration in good standing. 2 years of recent clinical experience, including proficiency in using ultrasound guidance to place peripheral intravenous catheters, midlines, and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC). Certified with the Canadian Vascular Access Association or Infusion Nursing Society or The Association for Vascular Access (AVA) is an asset. Proven clinical experience in providing high-quality clinical care, strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Ability to travel within Ontario to support the project by mentoring and coaching new learners. Keen attention to detail, ability to prioritize, multi-tasking skills, and organizational skills. Strong proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office. Strong analytical skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in both a team environment and independently; in person and remotely. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Experience within home and community care is an asset. Knowledge of adult learning principles and teaching is an asset. A valid driver''s license and vehicle as regular travel is required.
