Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Safety Coach to join their team on a 6-month contract in Cold Lake, AB (rotational schedule).This person is responsible for promoting and reinforcing a strong safety culture across operational teams, with a focus on drilling rigs, wellsite operations, or related field activities. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and training employees and contractors on safe work practices, hazard recognition, and compliance with company and regulatory safety standards. A background in rig operations (drilling, workover, or completions) is highly preferred to ensure practical, field-based safety leadership.Key Responsibilities:Conduct field observations, safety meetings, and toolbox talks to engage crews in safe work practices.Provide real-time coaching to employees and contractors on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and best safety practices.Act as a visible safety advocate, fostering a proactive safety culture on rig sites and field locations.Deliver safety training sessions (e.g., JSA, LOTO, confined space, H2S, fall protection) tailored to rig operations.Mentor new hires and less experienced personnel on company safety policies and procedures.Assist in developing and improving safety training materials based on industry standards (OSHA, API, IADC).Ensure adherence to company HSE policies, OSHA regulations, and client-specific requirements.Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective actions.Review Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and work permits for accuracy and completeness.Identify near-misses, unsafe acts/conditions, and trends, recommending preventive measures.Support incident reporting and follow-up to ensure lessons learned are communicated and applied.
