The company is focused on fostering long-term partnerships and utilising its deep understanding of the dairy market to provide actionable insights and reliable supply.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Dairy Trader to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of dairy commodity markets, a strong network of industry relationships, and proven experience in managing risk and executing complex trading strategies. You will be responsible for driving growth in our dairy trading portfolio by managing forward purchase and sales contracts, as well as developing tailored solutions that meet the needs of our customers.Key ResponsibilitiesTrade Execution & Strategy: Manage and grow the dairy trading portfolio, including forward purchase and sales contracts with mid to large-size manufacturers and large packaged food companies.Arbitrage Identification & Monetisation: Utilise proprietary quantitative models and AI-driven analysis to identify and capitalise on arbitrage opportunities between ingredient origins and demand destinations.Risk Management: Ensure risk is effectively managed by maintaining balanced volumetric positions and using derivative hedging instruments (CME, SGX-NZX, EEX) to mitigate exposure.Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, acting as a trusted advisor and providing them with reliable supply and pricing flexibility.Market Insight & Analysis: Provide clients with expert insight into the dairy market, leveraging extensive quantitative analysis and fundamental understanding to guide decision-making and optimise their trading strategies.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the analysis team to refine models, enhance forecasting accuracy, and identify new opportunities in the dairy market.Contract Negotiation: Negotiate long-dated term contracts with manufacturers and customers to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes that align with the company's objectives.Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 5+ years of experience in dairy trading, commodity trading, or a related role, with a proven track record of success in risk management, pricing strategies, and customer relationships.Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of dairy ingredients, market fundamentals, and the tools and platforms (CME, SGX-NZX, EEX) used for trading and hedging.Quantitative & Analytical Skills: Experience utilising quantitative methods and AI-based models for identifying trading opportunities and market analysis.Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish long-term, trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate complex trading strategies to clients and internal teams.Educational Background: A degree in Finance, Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a related field is preferred.Why Join Us?This is an excellent opportunity for a senior trader to join a firm at the forefront of innovation in the dairy and commodity trading sectors.
