We specialize in delivering high-performance systems supported by a responsive, technically skilled team.We are currently seeking a Shop Technician who will play a key role in our operations working hands-on with packaging equipment, contributing to cross-functional initiatives, and ensuring customer-ready systems are built, tested, and shipped on time.Role OverviewAs a Shop Technician at Impak, you will work alongside field service technicians and fellow shop technicians on electrical and mechanical builds, troubleshooting, and rework including ESA/CSA SPE1000 preinspections. You'll also collaborate closely with shipping, purchasing, and sales departments to ensure on-time shipments and alignment with customer expectations. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role requiring strong technical skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical pre-inspections and rework per ESA/CSA SPE1000 standards.Work directly with field service technicians and shop technicians on machine builds, troubleshooting, and testing.Conduct mechanical assembly of equipment from drawings, schematics, and build packages.Complete light fabrication tasks, such as drilling, cutting, and minor fitting.Ensure on-time shipping by coordinating final prep and packaging with the shipping department.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment with proper inventory and tool control.Collaborate with purchasing and sales teams to align material availability and delivery expectations.Participate in ongoing equipment maintenance, shop improvement, and troubleshooting tasks.QualificationsMinimum 1 year of experience in a mechanical or electrical assembly environment.Proficiency with hand and power tools.Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Clear verbal and written communication in English.Highly organized with an eye for detail and deadlines.Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical teams.Note: Forklift experience is an asset, but not required.Valuable Skills (Assets)Welding (MIG, TIG, or gas)Machining (e.g., drill press, mill, lathe)Experience with packaging equipment, automation, or custom machine buildsWhy Join Impak?Be a key contributor in a fast-growing, hands-on equipment divisionWork on real-world systems with tangible customer impactCollaborate with a knowledgeable, cross-functional team in a dynamic work environmentOpportunities for skill development across electrical, mechanical, and operational domains
